Meet the BBQ Host: Andy Rogers

Mr. Perfect will be regularly featuring a short interview with our BBQ Hosts from right across Australia. These humans are pivotal in their communities to ensure we are serving and supporting as best we can.

Up this week is Andy Rogers. Andy came to Australia 10 years ago with his Australian wife and English son. He is heavily involved in volunteering and is the local parkrun Director in his region. Not only has he taken the BBQ Host role to the next level, he has made new friends that he meets outside of the monthly event.

What location do you host?

Echuca, a smallish rural town in northern Victoria.

How did you find out about Mr. Perfect?

I was introduced by Ben Watson when he seen a post I posted asking for advice on some local mental health support groups and he suggested Mr. Perfect.

Why did you want to get involved?

I have a friend that has some anxiety challenges and I really wanted to help him and support him.

Favourite memory of a BBQ?

I have a memory from each one I have done so far and that’s new faces each month. I never get tired of listening to peoples stories to why they are there.

One piece of advice to a person debating whether to come along to a BBQ?

Remember everyone is there for the same reason and that is to reconnect.
